Bio: Blake is currently a PhD candidate at Georgia Tech studying electromagnetics while focusing on improving long range RFID and radio frequency energy harvesting. He has designed hardware boards for RFID, various sensing applications, and antenna systems from part selection through firmware programming. Blake's industry experience includes both Apple and Qualcomm as a hardware engineering focusing in sensing and RF systems. In 2013, Blake was the inaugural recipient of the William C. Brown Energy Harvesting Fellowship as well as a best student paper finalist at IEEE Radio Wireless Week. Blake has also been recognized outside of engineering with Georgia Tech's ECE Outstanding Service to Georgia's Community in 2012 and for winning the App Store Marketing Challenge in 2013 at Apple. In academia, Blake has published papers in RFID and wireless power transfer as well as developed hardware systems for start up companies.
